Following on from the successful Junior School Drama Scholar’s production of Henry V, as part of the Shakespeare School’s Festival, we are pleased to present another opportunity to see these talented young boys and girls perform one of Shakespeare’s great history plays, which will form the first half of the evening.
Set in modern times, the young cast are excellent in their storytelling techniques and theatricality. This abridged version is fast moving and expertly performed and is sure to create as big a splash at this year’s inaugural festival, as it did earlier this year at the Gulbenkian.
The second half of the evening, will see the M5 Drama Scholars tackle an abridged version of Twelfth Night, set in the 1960s. Assistant Director of Drama, Howard Sykes, has constructed a script that incorporates the hits of the 60s into this tale of loss, love and mistaken identity. Both shows are sure to thrill audiences with the sheer range of talent on show and the innovative way in which we tackle Shakespeare’s timeless poetry.
