- 1 Monday 5 September - Senior School new pupils' Induction commences.
- 2 Tuesday 6 September - Induction Day for all Lower Fifth and Lower Sixth pupils only. All Junior School and Pre-Prep School pupils return to school.
- 3 Wednesday 7 September - All other Senior School year groups return (Middle Fifth, Upper Fifth, and Upper Sixth).
- 4 School will finish at lunch time on this day. The SES Carol Service will be on Tuesday 13 December 2011.
- 5 Early May Bank Holiday is 7 May and will be a normal school day for SS and JS (but not the PP)
- 6 Spring Bank Holiday has been moved to Monday 4 June with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee public holiday taking place on Tuesday 5 June.

Notes
- Only in exceptional circumstances will permission be given for a pupil to leave before the end of term, or to arrive back after the term has begun. Requests should be addressed in writing to the Head, or the Master of the Junior School, at least two weeks before the intended alteration of arrangements.
- Pupils living overseas should arrange their flights so that they do not have to leave school early; this usually means flying no earlier than the day after the end of term.
