With end of year exams behind us, on Monday 21st June we held our first cross-curricular Theme Day. This innovation involved every child in the school, from Form 3 to Form 8, and the theme for this inaugural event was ‘Pattern’. On 22nd June the whole of Year 6 spent a day on the other side of the Channel at Wimereux and Boulogne. Having learnt how to shop in French prior to departure, Form 6 pupils displayed great confidence in asking for food items in Wimereux market - freshly roasted chicken, various French cheeses, baguettes, strawberries, cherries etc. From there a short walk led us to the delightful promenade alongside a wide sandy beach where the pupils tucked into their purchases with the enthusiasm expected of a group of youngsters who had been up since the crack of dawn. The chickens were picked to the bone, and few crumbs of the baguettes were left for the hungry seagulls who had been eyeing us up! ...'Summer Serenade' - June 29th 2010
