As part of the National Schools Chess Competition four Junior School pupils took part in one of the three Kent Schools Chess Megafinal's at Sandwich Technology School on Sunday 8th May: Seung Kim from Form 6, and Lily Gibbons, Alice Mount and Sophie Hopkins from Form 5. Each competitor had to play 6 matches and it was a long day, stretching from 9.30am until 5pm. Although they are all members of the Chess Club at school, competition chess was new to these pupils and they all came away from the day with a great deal of experience and will now look forward to next year...Summer Gathering 2011
