For the first time this season, due to call ups to the 1st XI, an U14 XI took the field against St. Lawrence College. Our opponents opted to bat first and it soon became evident why. Despite the loss of an early wicket their other opener and the number three bat put on an impressive 94 for the second wicket, both reaching 50s before the close of innings. However the team fielded impressively to restrict them to 157 from their 25 overs. In reply some poor decision making at the crease resulted in wickets tumbling at regular intervals, despite some stubborn resistance from Max Shepley, and the team were bowled out cheaply for 74. ...1
