Work experience at the University of Kent
Noah Routh and Jiaming Zhang got a taste of University life this term and spent the last week of June working in the Chemistry department at the University of Kent under the supervision of Dr David Pickup and Dr David Colclough. Their work involved helping out with the running of the labs and trialing experiments for the undergraduate courses. During the week they synthesised superconductors, luminescent compounds and prepared photosensitive solutions to make their own photographic prints. The week was a great opportunity to improve their practical skills and find out about how chemists work.
