Ladybirds trip to Wildwood
The Ladybirds had a wonderful start to the week with a topic related trip to Wildwood to explore camouflage colours and learn more about nocturnal animals. The children had a fabulous time and very much impressed the Wildwood keepers with their knowledge about nocturnal animals. We were lucky enough to see the otters being fed and then saw their underground holt where they lived. The children were thrilled to see weasels and one of the otters asleep, but alas, the badgers kept us guessing as to where they slept during the day! So many animals were to be seen and after a very cold start to the day we then enjoyed a warm drink inside before walking around the rest of the park before lunch. Then it was a visit to the playground before a sleepy journey back to school for the end of the day. The children impressed everyone with their wonderful behaviour and interest in what they saw and were great ambassadors for St Edmund’s. Well done Ladybirds.
