Jonty plays the Last Post at the Spitfire Ground

2018_music_Jonty Harris-HardingOn Tuesday 4th September, talented musician Jonty Harris-Harding (Year 7) had the honour of playing his trumpet at The Spitfire Ground in Canterbury as part of the a special commemoration ceremony. The event took place at lunch during the opening day of Kent versus Northants, for which club dignitaries and members of the Kent Cricket Supporters Club gathered at the Pavilion End of the pitch, when a wreath was laid to commemorate members of the cricket club who gave their lives in the First and Second World Wars, during which Jonty played The Last Post in front of the assembled crowd. Afterwards, he met cricketing legends including former England cricketer and Director of Cricket at the club, Paul Downton, and former West Indian cricketer and President of the club, John Shepherd.
