The Crickets visit a Fancy Dress Shop
Date: Tuesday 28 September 2010
As part of their topic on "Dressing Up", the Crickets visited The Marlowe Fancy Dress Shop in Canterbury.
The children had a chance to look around the shop and found out exactly how the shopworkers make, clean and repair the costumes. It really helped with their work on "Materials" in the classroom!
The children had prepared lots of questions to ask and they found out all about the costumes and accessories in the shop.
They drew and labelled diagrams of their favourite costumes...

...and tried on lots of costumes.

Antoine loved wearing the lion head!

Trying on the wigs was the favourite part of the trip!

Thank you to Maria and Sarah from The Marlowe Fancy Dress Shop who spent the morning answering all of our questions and brought out lots of lovely costumes and accessories for us to look at and try on. We had a wonderful time!
