Kent Competitive Festival - Saturday 17th November

On Saturday 17th November, St Edmund's School hosted the Junior and Senior Piano classes of the Kent Competitive Festival.
St Edmund's was represented by Freddy White, from the Middle Fifth, who played in the recital 13 - 15 years' class, and won the Cinque Ports Cup for his performance of the Rachmaninov Csharp minor prelude, and a Jazz piece called 'Willie Wagglestick's Walkabout' (!) by Brian Bonsor. Freddy also performed the first movement of the Haydn Dmajor piano concerto in the 16 years and under concerto class.
Freddy's award of the Cinque Ports Cup was made by the official adjudicator, Professor John Barstow MBE from the Royal College of Music in London.
