District Cross Country

Date: Friday 11 November 2011

On Wednesday 9th November I went to the District Schools Cross Country organised by Kent College in Blean Woods. I left lessons and arrived a little early because I was quite nervous. There were lots of schools there including Herne Bay High, Archbishops, QEGS and lots more. I do regularly train in Blean Woods in the summer and I had taken the time to walk the course so that I was confident of the route for this race.

I decided to start the race at a fast pace after talking to some of the KC boys who were running. Lots of pupils started fast too but most of them ‘burnt out’ and drifted to the back. I was in front for the entire race and came first!

This means that I can now run the Kent Schools Cross Country which will eventually lead to the English Schools event if I do well.

Max Shepley L5 Warneford House

I would like to offer my congratulations to Max for an outstanding sporting performance in the middle of a busy week. Well done and good luck in the county event. The other pupils have a challenge on their hands in the school cross country this year.
