1st VII Netball v Simon Langton GS

This was the newly formed team's first match of the 2012 season. St Edmund’s took two quarters to settle in to the match, and found themselves 2-17 down at half-time. In the second half, however, they took greater control, kept possession and won the third quarter. Nicole Etchie (WA) played particularly well . Unfortunately, Simon Langton's early lead proved too difficult to narrow. The final score was 9-21.

1st & 2nd Netball v Bethany

On Thursday the teams had to battle against the windy conditions as well as their opponents. The 1st Vll took a while to get into their stride, but they dominated in the next three quarters and won by 12-5. The defence were very solid and only allowed Bethany to score one goal in the second half. Well done to Goalkeeper (GK) Gina Zahn, GD Bethany Whitington and player of the match, WD Rowan Jones.

The 2nd Vll started well in the first quarter, taking an early lead. The match proved to be extremely close with the lead going back and forth between these two evenly matched teams. Unfortunately, Bethany gained the advantage in final minutes - we lost 12-16.
