The second semi-final of the Boys' competition finally got under way on Wednesday afternoon, and produced a thoroughlly absorbing contest between Baker and Wagner, which went down to the final rubber between Withrington and Max Kirkness, before Baker went through to the final by a 3 - 2 margin.
Arnie Dunning and Jack Barwick had straightforward wins for Baker, before Wagner hit back with 'David' - Oliver Kirkness beating 'Goliath' - Ben Easter, and Andrew Fellows coming back from 'the dead' - 3 - 7 down in the fifth set - to beat Rafi Stone.
Then Henry Withrington (M5) did 'the business' over Max Kirkness (U6); Tom Hulme. the Watson No.1, is not looking forward to playing Withrington in the last competitve squash match of his school career!
