Kent College - Honours Even!!
Date: Monday 28 January 2008
Matches against Kent College are never easy, and our record in recent seasons on the Hockey field contains very few victories, and some heavy defeats.
The Senior matches - 1sts and Pilgrims - were played this early evening, and produced one victory apiece.
Kent College, who had comprehensively beaten the two sides to whom we had recently lost - Harvey and Sutton Valence - added St Edmund's to their haul, 8 - 0. SES were ' brave, committed, and proud', and never 'gave up', and Harry Callaway, on his debut, nearly found the net, but the result was largely as anticipated.
This was not the case with Pilgrims, who, having lost last week to Sutton 4 - 2, won an epic struggle against KC by 2 - 0, with a goal in each half from Matt Dixon, and from KC Old Boy, Daniel Caplen, making his first appearance of the season as a striker. He struck, and the victory was sweet to savour.
The Juniors take on KC on Thursday - let's hope that they do equally as well, or better!
