Tuesday afternoon, and fixtures for Girls' and Boys' Junior Netball and Hockey teams, all against King's Schools - girls from Rochester, and boys from Canterbury.
Honours finished even on the Netball court, with Rochester taking the Under 15 game by 23 - 10. The scores were level at half-time, but King's ran away with it in the second period. The SES Under 14s, thanks to some good shooting from Deveena Pithia and Stephanie Howard, edged home 12 - 10.
Honours finished even as well on the Hockey field, where King's won the Under 14 clash by a solitary second half goal. The Under 15s' match could not have been more thrilling. 0 - 0 at half time soon became 2 - 0 to King's, but the SES boys never know when they are beaten and fought back to equalise thanks to a brace from Jonathan Clarke. With seven seconds to go, the award of a short corner allowed George Smith to net a winner with the last hit of the match. 3 - 2 to St Ed's!
Plenty more to come later in the week: Senior fixtures against Manwood's on Thursday, and the annual pilgrimage to St Lawrence on Saturday for both the Pilgrims and the Firsts.
