St Lawrence College

Date: Monday 4 February 2008

Two Senior Hockey teams travelled to Ramsgate on Saturday afternoon to take on St Lawrence College. In the last two seasons these had been very useful fixtures in which we had managed to improve our 'goals for' tally quite considerably. Would the same hold good in 2008?

The Pilgrims, after a detour via Maidstone (!), eventually located Ramsgate, and were straight onto the pitch without much of a warm up. Nevertheless, a goal in each half, from Nick Clapham and Matt Dixon ensured a comfotable 2 - 0 win.

The 1sts, having drawn against Manwood's on Thursday, managed another away draw, with Freddie Pack opening his account for the season. The 1 - 1 result was a fair reflection of the game (though we did create the bulk of the chances), and stands us in reasonable stead for another two matches this week - against Chatham House on Tuesday after school, and Dover College on Thursday afternoon. Both matches are 'at home' at the UKC Astro.
