Owls at the Science Museum

Date: Wednesday 5 March 2008

The Owls (Year 2s) had a splendid day out at the Science Museum last week, made even more exciting by the journeys there and back - by train and tube! Our topic this term has been Space so we went straight to the Space Gallery to see rockets, space suits, space food and lots more exciting things. The most interesting exhibit was a model of the very first lunar lander called ‘Eagle’. We knew it couldn’t be the real one because that was left orbiting the Moon in 1969. We wonder if it is still there! One of the highlights of the visit was watching a 3D film at the IMAX cinema. We all ducked when the astronauts had their Christmas lunch and an orange floated towards us! Well done the Owls for gaining so much from our day out.
