Staff Appointments - September 2008

The Headmaster is very pleased to announce the following appointments to the Senior School staff, with effect from the start of the new academic year in September 2008.
He has appointed Mr Nick Hodge as a teacher of Photography and Art. Mr Hodge is currently Head of Photography and a teacher of Art at Wychwood School, where he has taught for the past seven years. He was educated at Blackburn College, and is a graduate in Fine Art, Combined and Media Arts from Sheffield Hallam University.
Another appointment is that of Mr Mark Sell as Director of Drama, in succession to Richard Parsons. Mr Sell is currently Director of Performing Arts at Finchley Catholic High School. He was educated at Abbey Wood School and gained a Diploma in Acting before embarking on a successful career as a professional actor. He gained a PGCE in Performing Arts, and has extensive experience of directing as well as being an author in his own right.
An internal appointment is the promotion of Miss Liz Sears to a new position of Head of Drama, with specific responsibility for academic drama up to and including GCSE.

As an addendum, you may also be interested to learn of the change of management of Baker House from September. On the departure of Jessica Ockenden, and the retirement of Philip Mighell, Baker will be under the Housemastership of Michael Brewer, who has invited Rose Hummerstone to be his Deputy.
