Lower School Arts Week: Part Two
Date: Friday 14 March 2008

Here are our Lower School castle builders hard at work, after learning a few tips on the technique for using saws and hammers. D&T technician Neil (pictured in the first photo) is out of view in the second picture just behind Tom, the young sawyer, and Edd is on hand in the following picture to help keep the nails and tacks upright for hammering.

The wooden framework is for the portcullis, but that modern timber doesn't look any too stout! It's the technique that is the aim here, of course.

For the end of the week - and for a break from the construction industry - a falconry lesson is arranged: text and some photos will be posted soon, assuming the birds are content to have their picture taken.
