Form 6 Choristers Visit Penshurst

Date: Sunday 18 May 2008

On Friday this week the Form 6 choristers enjoyed a guided tour of the magnificent Penshurst Place, a medieval masterpiece that has been the home of the Sidney family since Tudor times. Included in the tour was the splendid Baron’s Hall with its 60ft high chestnut roof, but the boys also admired the beautiful gardens and had a tremendous time in the adventure playground.

The following day the boys shopped for and then cooked their own Tudor meal: mutton in ale followed by apple Tansey. What a great preparation for their performance at Cathedral Evensong, followed shortly afterwards by an evening concert in the little parish church at Bekesbourne. Well done boys!
