Forms 3 & 4 at the Living Land Show

Date: Sunday 18 May 2008

Forms 3 and 4 recently visited the Living Land Show at the County Show Ground on Detling HIll. They had a wonderful day and learned such a lot about Kent, its farming life and its rural heritage. This is what two of the pupils had to say about the day.

On 8th May we went to the Living Land Show with Form 4. We went on a big bus. It was white with blue writing and I looked out of the window. It took 40 minutes to get there. My favourite bit was everything. We tasted lots of food grown in Kent. I liked the apples best. After the sheep show we went back to school. It was a fantastic day at the Show.

At the Living Land Show there were 3000 children. They arrived in coaches or mini-buses. The children were Years 3 and 4. We went on a white coach and I sat next to Harry. We talked about Disneyland and about the rides.

When we got there Mrs. Thompson went to register us in and get the Steward. I was in Miss Nieves’ group. Then we went into a big building with lots of activities. My favourites were seeing some dogs because they were really sweet. Then we saw the birds of prey. We saw falcons catch their dinner and we saw an owl and we saw it catch its dinner too. We saw how an owl looks at things. My favourite was the owl.

Then we saw the sheep show with different sorts of sheep. We saw how you shear sheep and we saw the sheep dance and that was the best bit.
