Hockey, Soccer, and Squash

Date: Wednesday 26 September 2007

A busy Tuesday saw fixtures in three sports against opposition from Kent College, Norton Knatchbull School in Ashford, and St Lawrence College from Ramsgate.

A depleted Under 15 Girls' Hockey XI suffered a mauling at the hands of KC. Despite the unstinting efforts of Jenny Wheal and Alice Obee, and a better second half showing, Miss Cliff ran out of digits in her efforts to keep track of the score!

The junior footballers did slightly better against Knatchbull, where the Under 14s went down  to a late flurry of goals, 1 - 5. The game was however overshadowed by a serious injury to Dom Barrett - a fractured ankle. The Under 15s fought tenaciously to pull back a single goal deficit and manage a very creditable away draw, with lone striker Keliris netting the equaliser.

The very experienced Squash squad had their first match of the season, and, in preparation for the forthcoming matches against Sevenoaks and King's, beat St Lawrence comprehensively 5 - 0, with each of the five being a 3 - 0 win. You can't do much better than that!
