Inter-House Shooting Summer 2008

Date: Wednesday 25 June 2008

As the School year draws rapidly to its close, a number of Inter-House competitions are being decided, and the last few points towards the 'Cock House' Trophy are being decided.

One such annual competition, which brings with it two huge cups, is the shooting event, which contains a House and an Individual element. The new SSI Martin Ferguson has overseen the various rounds that have been shot, and comments that 'all the teams showed a lot of enthusiam and a few individuals scored well'.

Incidentally, the maximum team score would be 400 points, with an individual seeking a top score of 100. Every team and individual fell well short of a maximum, and Mr Ferguson suggests that 'it was perhaps lack of experience with the weapon system that affected most of the firers while particpating in the shoot'.

Out of the kindness of his heart he allowed 'all the teams the opportunity to fire the competition twice..generally produced better results the second time around'.

The final scores were:

Warneford (174) - winners; Wagner (121) - runners-up; Watson (112) - third; Baker (103) - fourth.

The individual trophy will be presented to Ben Clarke (Wfd) who totalled 66 points.
