Form 3's Great Adventure in Calais
Date: Monday 6 October 2008
Form 3 (Year 3) pupils are learning about France this term through a cross-curricular study. Having learned about typical French food, some of the ways in which French life differs from English life and some French phrases, we visited France to put our learning into practice.
Here is what some of the children had to say about their day:
“I liked it when we ordered our drinks and when the café lady gave us lollies because she said we were very good!” Lily
“I enjoyed shopping at the supermarket because we had to use a French shopping list.” Sophie
“The best bit was asking the till lady for a sac en plastique in French.” Milly
“We got to eat all the things we bought at the supermarket on our picnic which was great.” Ella
“It was fun when my biscuit dropped into my chocolat chaud .“ William
“I enjoyed drinking chocolat chaud as it warmed me up…….and we got two sugar lumps!” Matty
“It was good when Mrs. Thompson and Joy read Fantastic Mr Fox to us in the Tunnel.” Ellie
“I enjoyed eating biscuits on the train.” Elsa
