Tuesday's Highlights - Dane Court and Dover

Date: Tuesday 14 October 2008

Three junior matches on Tuesday afternoon produced a first win of the season for the Under 15 girls' hockey XI, who managed a 1 - 0 win over Dover College courtesy of a goal from Kara Wagland.

The boys travelled to Dane Court GS in Broadstairs - Mr Jones' previous employers - where the home sides were just marginally too strong for us. The Under 15s lost 1 - 2, having conceded a soft early goal before Sekiguchi kept up his scoring run with a scorching equaliser. Dane Court were kept at bay until a late free kick eluded Stewart Wright's grasp. Stewart had made a series of important stops to keep the scores level up to that point.

The Under 14s were berated by coach Millard at half-time for their least effective display of the season, when they turned round three down at the interval. The second half produced a much tougher performance, and a 0 - 0 scoreline, with Andrew Pittard holding the defence together, while Edam Naseem and Max Bungay took the game to the Dane Court boys. Sadly, none of the chances that were created was taken, and 0 - 3 remained the final score.

The Senior House Match finals, scheduled for this Thursday will be postponed until November 20th - key Warneford personnel are committed to a Film Studies outing. Their absence would devalue the final, and Warneford's clash with Baker.
