House Singing Competition - Pupils in Rehearsal
Date: Thursday 16 October 2008
What's special about Friday, October 17th? Half Term begins? Yes, but no. The answer of course is that it's the date for the House Singing Competition in Junior School. Every pupil from Forms 3 to 8 has been practising on Monday and Tuesday mornings for weeks: here you see them in rehearsal. You can't hear them on the website (perhaps that's fortunate, as these pictures were taken early on!) but we hope their expressiveness - and that of the staff - transmits to you in the photographs.

Roper House (below) rehearses 'Pretty Woman', the Roy Orbison classic brought back to fame in the film of the same name:

Look up, girls!
Marlowe House and Junior School Head of Music Julian Lambert on Home Clothes Day (below) - hence the lack of tie! - with the Beatles' 'Lady Madonna':

Chaucer House (below) chose the Mamas and Papas with their song 'California Dreamer':

So, till the final on Friday afternoon, a Mexican Wave goodbye from us all .... .... and good luck to those taking part. The results will be posted very soon.
