Junior School Girls' Hockey
Date: Thursday 16 October 2008
The Under 10 girls' hockey team has played an unbeaten 11 games in two and a half years. The girls started this term very well, beating Kent College's robust team one-nil and a similarly strong side from Ashford. All of the Form 5 girls have participated in the team, with the opportunity to attend extra training with Mrs Relf on Mondays after school.
Team target for the future: quiet concentration with the aim of improving on an already good performance!

Below: The Under 12 team, which has enjoyed a good season so far - and we mean ENJOYED, as you can see in the photo!

Below: The Under 13 team shortly after their match against Sir Roger Manwood's School, which they drew.
From Mrs Jain's match report: 'Maintaining pressure throughout the game the girls were unfortunately unable to convert their hard work into goals: at the end of the first half the score was an even nil-nil. Early in the second half Beth scored a fantastic goal, neatly tipping it on from a hard hit across the circle. Harriet scored another goal, which was smacked from the top of the 'D', but it was disallowed by the umpire for being too high. Huge enthusiasm followed, with a gung-ho attitude as everyone surged forward to score more goals. Unfortunately this left Cordelia and Anna alone at the back to defend against the Manwood's forwards, and eventually Manwood's scored to equalize. Still, this was an improved and pleasing performance.'
