Inter-House Quiz - Four out of Four for Warneford
Date: Thursday 16 October 2008
An entertaining ninety minutes was spent in the Science Lecture Theatre this evening, as the annual Inter-House Quiz competition was fought to its conclusion.
Watson, largely thanks to Freddy White, beat Alasdair McMaster's Wagner side in the first semi-final, before Warneford, led by Michael Hawkes, with strong support from two Ben Clarkes overcame Baker, for whom Ben Pape was quietly effective as captain.
The final was 'nip and tuck' for a while with the luck of the 'easy' follow-up questions favouring Warneford, who won by 150 points to secure a fourth win in four seasons in this event. The ghost of Tim Hamilton haunts - benevolently! - the House in this particular contest!
After half-term, two School teams will represent St Edmund's in this year's Schools Challenge. They may do well!
Full scores from today: Watson (430) beat Wagner (300); Warneford (470) beat Baker (320);
And in the final: Warneford (490) beat Watson (340).
