Inter-House Singing Competition

Date: Friday 28 September 2007

What a fantastic afternoon we enjoyed today at the Junior School Inter-House Singing Competition! The four houses put on wonderful performances, all of them distinguished in their musical quality, diction and sense of performance - and the sheer enthusiasm of the children was outstanding too. Much to the acclaim of the rest of the school, the Cathedral Choristers brought proceedings to a close with two light-hearted pieces.

It was a close-run competition, but Marlowe won with a highly polished performance of 'A Whole New World'. Becket was runner-up with 'Chattanooga Choo Choo' and Roper and Chaucer shared third place with 'Food, Glorious Food' and 'Rock around the Clock' respectively. Well done all concerned, pupils and staff. We are grateful to the adjudicator Mr William Bersey, Acting Director of Music at the King's School, Canterbury for his encouraging and supportive remarks.
