Excellent Music Exam Results

Date: Tuesday 25 November 2008

Many congratulations to those members of the School who took, and passed, Trinity Guildhall Music examinations earlier in the week. Pride of place must clearly go to Junior School Deputy Head Richard Austen who was awarded a 'distinction' for his efforts in the Grade 5 Trombone exam which he took!

Twelve pupils took exams at different levels; congratulations in particular to the two who earned Grade 8 qualifications, and who will be awarded their certificates publicly on Speech Day 2009. They are Alex Abley (Upper Fifth) who gained a 'merit' on the Recorder, and to Joe Rawlins (Upper Sixth) who earned a 'pass' with his Voice. The other Senior School successes were Jennifer Grun (Voice) and George Taylor (Piano).

Another word of congratulation is due to Science technician Christine George, who has been awarded the 'Gordon Underwood Prize for Excellence in Sports Psychology' by Canterbury Christ Church University. This prize will be presented to Christine on her graduation day. No wonder the School netball and hockey teams have responded so well to her coaching methods over the years!!
