Under 10 and Under 11 Netball Report
Date: Friday 30 January 2009
The Under 10 netball team have played two matches so far this term and are unbeaten.
We won the first match, against Junior King’s Canterbury A team, by the comfortable margin of 11-6. In the next game, playing an older team of Under 11Bs from St Lawrence, we found it more difficult because the opposition was very tall. As the game went on we learned to jump much higher and we were determined not to lose, coming from 3-6 down in the last quarter to draw 6-6 at the final whistle. Well done girls!
Everybody played well but especially Lottie, who was dynamic in the centre. Our defence - Arabella, Chloe and Kate - is growing more confident and always work hard, determined not to let the ball pass through. In the attack Emily, Shusmita and Anna are gaining confidence and have shown some really sharp shooting. Duchess, Olivia and Cordelia have slotted beautifully into any position they have been put into.
At this age group the girls have not lost a match now for about 20 consecutive fixtures: keep it going, girls!!
Meanwhile, in the triangular match against Ashford and King’s Rochester, the Under 11 girls played well in both games, though the first game against Ashford proved to be harder and we lost narrowly. We then went on to play well against King’s Rochester and the final score was 2-2.
All the girls played well although special mention should go to Helen Roberts as she really jumped and fought for every ball with such determination!
