Baker March On! So Do The Pilgrims!!
Date: Tuesday 24 February 2009
Thursday 26th February saw inter-House and inter-School fixtures, as the girls senior netball competition drew to its conclusion, and the boys' 2nd XI - the Pilgrims - played their first match in a while after a series of postponements.
The netball matches had Wagner and Watson playing off for third place - and a comfortable win for Wagner ensued. In the final, Baker overcame stubborn Warneford resistance, so the Baker winning streak continues. Mrs Wilkinson suggested that a better final would have been Baker against Wagner, but the Wagner girls had been knocked out in the semis.
The scores? Wagner 37 Watson 29; Baker 25 Warneford 14. Cup presentation - Monday's Line!
The Pilgrims travelled down the Sandwich Road to Polo Farm to meet Sir Roger Manwood's 2nd XI. This provided Nick Clapham's side with their first win of the 2009 campaign, with first half goals from Ben Kemp, Dom Morgan, and Clapham himself being the only scores in a 3 - 0 win.
The next matches are the four netball fixtures against the Duke of York's RMS on Saturday - juniors at home, seniors down the A2 at Dover.
