A Doctor and a Daughter!
Date: Wednesday 24 June 2009
Many congratulations to the lady we all know as Mrs Robinson - teacher of Film Studies, and English, and Deputy Housemistress of Warneford House. On Monday afternoon she went through the stress of a 'viva' exam to decide whether or not she would be awarded her doctorate; she was successful and so she will now be known as Dr Melanie Caiazza (her maiden name) PhD. The award was for her research into Medieval and Early Modern Studies, and was awarded by the University of Kent.
More congratulations, too, to Mr and Mrs Brewer. Michael is Baker Housemaster, and Head of Religious Studies, and on Sunday his wife Fliss was safely delivered of a daughter, Harriet Mary, to be known as Hattie. Both mother and daughter are doing well. This is the second staff daughter to be born this term following Paul and Anne Bold's 'arrival'!
Is the tradition of a half-day holiday going to be revived in honour of the births?
