Inter-House Golf

Date: Tuesday 30 June 2009

The Inter-House Golf took place at school on the lovely afternoon of Friday 19th June. Each of the four Houses entered a team in this “Texas Scramble” competition. In a Texas Scramble each player in the team tees off and the team chooses which is the best shot; then everyone in the team plays their second shot from that position. This continues until the hole is completed.

Becket was the winning team, completing the six holes in an excellent 20 shots. Chaucer and Marlowe were joint second. Everyone had an enjoyable time. As golfers might imagine, the occasional brilliant shot was offset by a greater number of frustrating hacks! Mr Austen thinks that approximately 15 golf balls were lost. One was last seen rolling down the hill towards the Westgate Towers and another screamed over the University Road towards Chaucer College at 200mph.

The Becket winning team comprised: Theron Tickridge, Steven Draper, William Green, Phillip Ross, Prabesh Gurung and Sushant Lama
