Picasso in Lower School
Date: Sunday 14 October 2007
The downstairs corridor in Lower School is looking extremely colourful following Form 4's study of the artist Picasso in recent weeks. Their oil pastels are most eye-catching and the children loved experimenting with www.picassohead.com in ICT, which enabled them to create their own 'faces' in the style of Picasso. In a further cross-curricular link they have also been looking at the topic of 'the body' in Science. The children have also made collages of their own faces á la David Hockney and these works of art are now suspended from the ceiling.
Meanwhile Form 5 took their art lesson in Blean Woods this week, building sculptures of leaves, twigs and other natural materials. Come and see the photographic evidence!
