Harvest Festival
Date: Thursday 8 October 2009
Last Friday, the children of Abingdon celebrated Harvest. The Chaplain entranced the children with a lovely story about a sweet tree. The children were all given a sweet and were not allowed to eat it, but they had to find a way of getting a sweet to eat. They eventually worked out that they needed to give their sweet to a friend and in turn they would receive one too. Thus the children took on the message of sharing and kindness.
The children all brought gifts of fruit, vegetables and non perishable items to be given and shared with their kindness to those less fortunate than themselves.
The assembly concluded with a harvest song sung by Abingdon Choir.
