Two Monday Matches - Barton Court and Ashford School

Date: Monday 9 November 2009

First XI footballers enjoyed little or no respite after the demands of Saturday's match before returning to the fray, this time on the UKC Astroturf against the boys from Barton Court GS. SES dominated the game but only managed to come out with a 1 - 1 draw - again! - this time after almost total domination of the second half during which Rafi Stone equalised with a low left-foot drive from outside the box. A lack of clinical finishing let them down, and 'aggression, mixed with poise' just failed to bring a deserved win.

The 2nd XI girls played Ashford School on the adjoining UKC pitch, and won convincingly 4 - 0, scoring three in the second half. The goals came from Charlotte Lench (2), Sam Catford, and Georgia Henry, as chances were created by 'man of the match' Sofia Williams. In what was deemed the best 2nd XI performance of the season, Lower Fifth debutante, Anna Spyropoulos, was outstanding in goal. Well done to the girls!

The Under 15s play Dover College tomorrow - another win, perhaps, and the boys Squash 1st V travel to Sevenoaks for their toughest test so far.
