Young Engineers: K'Nex Technology Day
Date: Saturday 14 November 2009

The Young Engineers Club enjoyed a fabulous K’Nex Technology Day last Saturday. The challenge was to invent and build a number of fairground rides from K’Nex kits and in doing so to employ pulleys, gears and motors.

A group of Young Engineers from Lower School worked away at their construction challenges from 8.30am until midday and an Upper School group followed in the afternoon from 1pm until 4.45pm.

There were more than ten inventions, including a swinging Pirate Ship, the Scrambler, a roller coaster, and a cable car. They also constructed some additional items, including a smaller playground with swings and diggers.
Many thanks to Mrs Yearsley and Mr Reames for masterminding, organising and running this fantastic opportunity. Their next event is likely to be a Family K’Nex Challenge one evening later in the year!
