Book and Cake Sale raises £470 for charity
Date: Monday 12 October 2009
On Friday the Junior School staff held a charity cake and book sale with the help of some generous donations from pupils and parents. The sale was to raise money for the Royal Marsden Hospital and the Macmillan Nurses.
Never before has the Junior School seen such an influx of hungry readers! Eight laden tables of home-baked and shop-bought cakes disappeared before our eyes as children and adults alike fought their way to the front of the queue. Books of various types were snapped up too as parents and pupils generously donated their money.
An amazing total of £470 was raised within an hour and a half and the Junior School staff would like to thank all the people who so generously donated books and cakes. And well done Mrs Relf for organising the event.
