Chaucer House Scarecrow Competition
Date: Thursday 15 October 2009
To celebrate Chaucer House Day this year we decided to run a Scarecrow Competition. Children were invited to bring scarecrows into school to gain points for their houses. There were 3 categories to be judged; 1) Painting or Drawing, 2) Family Scarecrow, made with adult help and 3) All My own work, scarecrows made by the children alone.
The competition was a great success with over 30 entries in the 2-dimensional class and about the same again in the other two classes. About 20 were life size entries and these graced the Lower School corridors for two weeks until judging took place on Friday 9th October.
