A New Challenge for the Young Engineers
Date: Monday 8 March 2010
Last Saturday morning 25 boys and girls from Forms 3-5 joined Mrs Yearsley and Mr Reames in another Young Engineers challenge morning.
The new challenge this time was to find a way of moving a Playmobile figure safely from one side of a large obstacle to the other without touching the obstacle. The children were allowed to use any method they could think of.

The first task for the young engineers, working individually or in groups, was to draw their ideas and designs on paper then build them, modifying their designs as they went along as necessary. Some worked in Lego, others in K'Nex and some in Meccano - as well as string, balloons, and lots of Blu-Tack!

There were some brilliantly inventive ideas and everyone showed a great dealof creative problem-solving skills! Well done everyone – those chocolate donuts were richly earned!
