Abingdon Arts Week - Victorian Hats
Date: Saturday 20 March 2010
The children in the Crickets looked very carefully at the hats in Renoir's picture 'The Umbrellas'.
Then they made their own Victorian hats trying to make them as similar as possible to those in the picture.
First they had to measure around their heads to make sure the hat was the right size.

They found lots of ways to secure the hats - tape, glue and staples, sometimes all three! With a little paint (and quite a lot of feathers) the hats were ready.

The finished hats look splendid. Well done Crickets!
