French Week - Building Eiffel Towers
Date: Wednesday 26 May 2010
All the classes were given the challenge to build model Eiffel Towers during French Week.
The Grasshoppers were divided into two groups, each group given newspaper and masking tape to make paper Eiffel Towers.
They rolled the paper into tubes, looking carefully at the shapes within the tower, to construct their own towers.

Amazing, sturdy towers!

What team work!
Meanwhile, in the Crickets class, the children were re-creating their own versions of the Eiffel Tower using art straws and sticky tape.

We needed a lot of sticky tape!

By the end everyone had made a tower that stayed up all by itself. Some were taller than the children who had made them!
