The Alchemists - in Concert

Date: Friday 28 May 2010

Those of you who supported the infamous 'St Ed's Got Talent' evening back in the Lent Term will remember the runners-up, the Alchemists, and their lead singer Alexander Gibson. Some thought they were unlucky to be pushed into second place by Tom Vafidis, but their chance will come again in 2011, I'm sure.

In the meantime, if you can't wait to see them in concert, then all you need to do is to purchase a ticket for a gig on Saturday August 7th, when they will topping the bill at an open-air evening at 'The Paddocks' on New House Lane in Canterbury. The event is to raise funds for the 'Paddocks - Riding for All' charity, and tickets can be purchased in advance for £7.50 - £10.00 on the night.

Cars can be parked for a fiver - but the venue is in walking distance from Wincheap, and there will be a taxi shuttle at £1 a person from Canterbury West station. Food stalls, a beer tent, a bar, and picnic areas will add to the entertainment.

Also on the bill are 'Van Dave', reputedly fronted by another talented ex-Edmundite, David van Rooyen, winner of the 'St Ed's Got Talent' event of 2009.

Put it in your diary now! Further details can be found by contacting concert.the paddocks.org/index.html.
