Roman Day in Form 4
Date: Sunday 28 February 2010
By a member of Form 4…
My Roman Day was on Thursday 25th February. I dressed up as a Roman centurion in a silver breastplate of metal armour with sandals, a real sword and a shield. My shield was fit for a king, encrusted with gold in the picture of a dragon. My sword was hand crafted, with a deadly sharp iron blade and a platinum handle with a dragon carved into it. Only the gods might usually own such weapons.

We started off Roman Day nicely, making clay tiles and oil lamps. We drew patterns and our initials on them. Next we had a proper Roman feast. For starters we had boiled eggs, dates, grapes, olives, pita bread and honey, figs and pomegranates. For the main course we had a sort of pizza and bananas.
