Abingdon Sports Day

It was Abingdon's Sports Day on Friday!

The parents came to watch some of the sports skills the children had been practising in their PE lessons. These included skipping; sack racing; hurdles and ball skills.

Then all the children took part in the Novelty Race on the track. Wearing pirate bandanas, they had to jump in sacks, race across the hurdles, scramble through hoops and run with beanbags balanced on their heads. It was fun to do and fun to watch!

The Sports Day finished with some very exciting running races.

After all that hard work the children cooled down with a well-deserved ice lolly and then feasted on fruit;' juice; cakes and popcorn. A splendid tea was provided for all the mums and dads, hungry and thirsty from all the cheering!
