Saturday 12th June saw the last of the four maths masterclasses for Years 5 and 6 mathematicians from St. Edmund's and local Primary Schools. The topic for the session was "Strategy ~ or how a little bit of maths can outwit your opponent" and it was run by Richard Austen, maths teacher and Second Master (deputy head) at St Edmund’s Junior School. ...To All Music Lovers!

Here are some photos from a Form 3 maths activity. On the past two Thursday mornings, Form 3 has been investigating the card game Continuo. It is played using a set of square cards that have a pattern of coloured squares. The object is to place your cards so that you create the longest possible chain of coloured squares. Last week the children played the game and had to do lots of adding up to keep track of their scores! ...Do Something Different Every Week Club - Gliders, Sundials, Chompybots & LEDs

Most recently in Do Something Different Every Week Club we made tumblewing gliders. We watched a video of a man making a glider using pages from an old telephone book and then we used thin origami paper to build our own aircraft. We learned how to fly our gliders with the help of the man on the video, who used a large sheet of card to help his plane glide. Some of us were able to make ours fly quite well!...Girls' Games - half term round-up

On Monday 24th May the two Form 4 classes ventured across La Manche to Le Touquet, a quintessential French seaside resort. The pupils practised their French by buying lunch - though they were slightly put off the Poissonnerie due to the smell! Every single pupil managed to order something to eat and communicate in the French language. They were so proud to be able to put their language skills to practical use. ...
