On Monday 24th May the two Form 4 classes ventured across La Manche to Le Touquet, a quintessential French seaside resort. The pupils practised their French by buying lunch - though they were slightly put off the Poissonnerie due to the smell! Every single pupil managed to order something to eat and communicate in the French language. They were so proud to be able to put their language skills to practical use. ...Lower School visit to Choir House and Cathedral Evensong.

The whole of Lower School took a special trip down the hill to the Cathedral last Thursday, Form 3 by minibus and Forms 4 and 5 the mile and a half on foot. On Saturday in the latest Maths Masterclass for Years 5 and 6 children who are Gifted and Talented in Maths, we investigated ways to fill space - first with a team challenge in which the teams had to construct four identical rectangles from 16 oddly-shaped pieces. On Friday morning, 14th May, the whole of Form 6 set off in lovely sunshine for the annual History field trip to Portsmouth. First stop on arrival was the Mary Rose. Although the ship itself is not currently on display because a new exhibition is being built around it, the museum and excellent educational activities organised for the pupils more than compensated. ...1 2
