Staff Run for Stella - Coast to Coast along Hadrian's Wall

On Saturday 5th June Robert Bacon led a team of staff runners in a relay run along the 84-mile length of Hadrian’s Wall to raise money for the Stella Fund. The team included Messrs Bacon, Bold, Buckingham, Hooley, Jones, Marshall, and Mr and Mrs Millard. Departing St Edmund’s on Friday afternoon, we drove to the Lake District, where we spent the night in a barn kindly loaned by Stamford School - Mr Bacon’s previous employer and Mr Marshall’s alma mater. The Inter-House Golf Tournament saw eleven golfers competing for the individual and team trophies. The format was Texas Scramble in which the team play their best ball. The majority of the competitors were regular attendees of the after-school golf club, so their course knowledge of the St. Edmund’s links would prove to be a vital advantage! Each House team comprised of at least three players, except Marlowe, whose lone golfer was Nathan Gambrill, who thoroughly deserves a mention in this report for his determination to win some house points! ...Art and Technology Exhibition - June 30th 2010
