Over the half term break Alexander Ashman (Form 7) competed in the English Ski Championships at Bormio in Italy. The first race of the week was a slalom race. It was a beautiful day in Bormio and with the slalom slope well prepared, the conditions were ideal for a day’s racing. In the first run Alex ‘straddled’ (one of his feet went the wrong side of the gate), but on the second run he came back with a fine performance and a good time, earning him a place of 50th overall out of 102 racers. Alex is currently one of the youngest in his age group, which is aged 11 up to 15, so this was a very pleasing result. The second race was a GS (giant slalom) and after both runs Alex was placed 55th out of 104, so a second good performance...Joseph and his Technicolor Dreamcoat - final preparations

Ellie Walker-Reid (Form 6), who is used to appearing on stage in London and all over the UK, has made her first appearance in a major film, The Woman in Black, which went out on general release last week. The film, which was made by Hammer Film Productions, stars Daniel Radcliffe and is a dramatised adaption of the book by novelist Susan Hill...Birds of Prey visit the Lower School and Pre-Prep

The Kic Theatre visited made its termly visit to Lower School recently to run educational drama workshops with Forms 3, 4 and 5. The two Form 4 classes have been studying the Romans for their history topic this term and Ian involved each child in a series of improvised scenes that included the Roman bath house, road building and military duties. ...Form 4's Roman soldiers survive Celtic attack!

Form 4 children have been studying the Romans for their History topic this term. Whilst learning about Roman army battle tactics we decided to make a mock Testudo or ‘tortoise’. The children formed a rank of soldiers and raised dinner trays around them in the same fashion in which the Roman soldiers would have used their shields when marching into battle. ...Lower School artists visit their work in the Horsebridge Art Gallery
